Mickey Mouse For President? Conservatives Are Revolting!!!

Bothered by the notion that there are no conservatives in this year's Presidential race, a conservative group has decided to launch a write-in campaign centered around the "gay friendly" icon, Mickey Mouse. Odd choice. I just don't think they thought this through.

As per PRWEb.com;
"If a vast number of voters dislike the candidates (and the eventual victor) so much as to write in a cartoon character, the new President will have little or no political capital. He (or she) will not be able to "ramrod through" whatever he wants, and he will not have the political clout to force Congress to go along."

This may be more about Obama, than McCain, ultimately. Though, in the likely-hood that the Democrats gain more seats in the Senate and Congress in November, Obama wouldn't have to "ramrod" anything (unless it contradicted a Democrat agenda). McCain, on the other hand would have no choice but compromise should he end up in the White House.

"Instead, each Congressman will have to listen to his constituents and make his own decision on what to support or oppose."

One would hope this would be the case, regardless. If not, it would be up to those constituents to show 'em the door, which again, seems to be expected of Republican incumbents this fall.

I don't really see this movement taking off. Funny idea, though.

update: I did sign the petition.
1) to get updates by email and
2) to throw in a couple of digs (couldn't help myself)
